SURAT: The CID (crime) Surat unit lodged an FIR against three govt officers and partners of the reportedly fake real estate firm Samruddhi Corporation for allegedly making 486 bogus property cards of farmers to usurp their land parcels in Dumas, Gavier, and Vanta villages adjoining the city and developing a plotting scheme there.
The police booked deputy director KP Gamit, superintendent AD Patel, and a data entry operator of the City Survey Superintendent office on the complaint lodged by Azad Ramoliya (47), who owns a factory in Ankleshwar and is also engaged in farming.
Ramoliya alleged that the govt officers and promoters of Samruddhi Corporation connived to make 135 bogus property cards of his six plots in Dumas and one in Vanta village, and 351 of other plots between 2017 and 2022. He claimed that he made several applications of complaint to various authorities, including the district collector, but no offence was registered until now. He alleged that the names of farmers were entered in the 7/12 extract, and the plots were sold as farmhouses in the scheme named ‘Silent Zone.’
Investigation officer PB Sanghani told TOI: “We have booked three govt officials and partners of Samruddhi Corporation for cheating, forgery, and criminal conspiracy under IPC. We have started collecting evidence against the accused, but no arrests have been made yet.”
Ramoliya told police that he bought the six plots during 2016 and 2017 from Rasik Lallubhai, a farmer in Magdalla. The names of Ramoliya and his family members were entered in the 7/12 extract of all the parcels. In 2022, a land broker came to him with a property card for plot number 803 to sell the land. As the land belonged to him, he checked various govt records and found that many property cards were registered on land parcels owned by him and his family members.
Ramoliya claimed he approached the collectorate, municipal commissioner, prant officer, mamlatdar, DILR, among others, on Aug 17, 2022. He claimed he submitted an application for complaint to the detection of crime branch (DCB) on July 23, but it was closed without any action on Aug 2 last year.
Ramoliya then sent a complaint to the office of the additional director general of police, CID Crime, Gandhinagar on June 24.
In his complaint, Ramoliya said neither he nor his family members applied for property cards online or offline, but 135 such cards were issued to various plot holders on the six land parcels. He also alleged that apart from him, 351 more cards were issued on land parcels of other farmers in Dumas, Gavier, and Vanta villages.
“In 2022, I applied to the district collector’s office to cancel all the property cards, but no action was taken,” he alleged.
Ramoliya alleged that separate lands were merged and sold as plots to several buyers by ‘Samruddhi Corporation’ using fake power of attorneys.
