PRAYAGRAJ: The price of Prayagraj Development Authority (PDA) flats, which are lying unsold for the past many years , has been reduced by 10%. Apart from this, many decisions, including changes in land use and the expansion of residential and commercial areas, were taken in the board meeting of PDA on Thursday.

256 flats of PDA have not been sold for a long time. These flats are in Kalindipuram and Naini. PDA has sought applications several times for allotment. An attempt was also made to sell them on a first-come, first-serve basis, but buyers did not purchase the flats due to their high prices.

Therefore, the board has now agreed to reduce their prices by 10%. Apart from several agendas, there was a detailed discussion about Master Plan 2031. Under the master plan, the urban area would be expanded, and 1,200 villages have increased around the city.

In the Master Plan 2021, the area of PDA is up to 309 square kilometres; now it has been increased by an additional 89 square kilometres. PDA has expanded several kilometres all around, but the lands have not been made residential.

There was a constant demand for residential permission in the expanding area of the city. In this meeting, the residential area under the master plan has also been increased by 10%.

Until now, the residential area was 36%, which will now be increased to 46%. Similarly, the commercial area has been increased from 2.04% to 4.57%.
