LUDHIANA: Tuesday, Dec 31, 2024, is the last day to pay property tax for the current financial year (2024-25) without penalty. A 10% penalty will be imposed if property owners fail to pay tax by then. To facilitate residents, zonal suvidha kendras will remain open for visitors from 9am to 4pm on Tuesday.
Civic officials said that residents availed 10% rebate on payment of property tax for the current financial year if payment was made by Sep 30.
No penalty will be imposed on payment of tax from Oct 1 to Dec 31 while 10% penalty will be imposed on payment of tax from Jan 1 to March 31.
If residents fail to pay by March 31, penalty will increase to 20% and 18% annual interest will be imposed.
MC commissioner Aaditya Dachalwal said that residents could also pay their dues online on the website, mcludhiana(dot)gov(dot)in(dot) He urged residents to pay pending tax on time to avoid penalties. He said that the amount collected would be used for development works.
