LUCKNOW: A total of 48 complaints regarding inflated property tax assessments from the GIS survey were addressed at a redressal camp organised by the Lucknow Municipal Corporation (LMC) on Friday.
The camp was chaired by Mayor Sushma Kharakwal, who personally listened to grievances and directed officials to provide prompt resolutions.
She emphasised the effectiveness of the camp in addressing public concerns arising from the GIS survey and reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to fairness and transparency in tax assessments.
Municipal Commissioner Inderjit Singh oversaw the proceedings, ensuring that all issues were resolved on the spot. The LMC announced that these redressal camps would continue every Friday until all grievances are addressed.
Among the notable cases, Tanu Pandey from Aliganj Sector-M saw her annual property tax reduced from Rs 14,580 to Rs 7,020. Ram Kumar Khanna from Nishatganj had his tax adjusted from Rs 14,480 to Rs 11,520, and Janki Ballabh Durgapal from Eldeco-1 in Sharda Nagar saw his tax decrease from Rs 28,350 to Rs 21,600.
