PATNA: Landholders can now upload the details of their land by way of self-declaration on the website of revenue and land reforms department by February next year, that is within 180 working days from the launch of the special survey ordered by the govt in August.
The state cabinet on Tuesday approved the govt’s decision to give the owners an extended overall period of 180 working days for uploading the self-declarations.
The documents that can be uploaded are the records regarding the plots and their respective ‘vanshavali’ (family tree or lineage details), a well as other details, if any.
The last cadastral survey of land was done in 1911. The Nitish Kumar govt has started the special survey of the record of land rights, as the nature of land has vastly changed over the past century, as a result of partitions of land in the families.
Additional chief secretary of the cabinet secretariat department S Siddharth said the survey has to be totally error free, transparent, and also completed expeditiously to the satisfaction of all concerned. “There were reports about complaints in procuring and updating the land records concerned. Accordingly, the government has extended the period for uploading the details to 180 working days, up to February next year.”
He added that after the uploading process is completed, the time given for the verification of the maps of the revenue villages concerned is 90 working days, while claims and objections of the land holders would be received over 60 working days. Their claims and objections will be resolved in 60 working days. If it is felt necessary, the time to file claims and objections can also be extended by 90 days after the final publication of the records.
Among other decisions, the cabinet sanctioned Rs 49.73 crore for developing Karamchat in Kaimur district as hub for eco-tourism and adventure, as it is near a bird sanctuary. Similarly, the cabinet sanction was also given to the use of Rs 98.65 crore for creating tourist facilities near Matsyagandha lake in Saharsa district.
The cabinet approved the changes made in the state govt’s rules regarding the ways of procurement of utilities and services from internal and global entities and sources in the light of global transformations brought by information technology.
The cabinet also approved the government’s new directives for the framing of schemes.
Besides, the cabinet sanctioned the transfer of Rs 890.14 crore to the plan fund of 2024-25 to implement Akshar Aanchal Yojana meant for the Mahadalit, Dalit, extremely backward classes (EBC) groups of the minority sections.
The cabinet gave its post-facto administrative sanction to the revised estimate worth Rs 78.28 crore spent on the construction of residential campus for the ministers under construction in Patna.
The cabinet also gave its approval to the creation of 24 posts of teachers and eight of the non-teaching staff for eight departments of Jaya Prakash Narayan University, Chhapra, besides 14 posts of teachers and 10 of the non-teaching staff in Bhola Prasad Singh College at Bhore in Gopalganj district. Similarly, the sanction was also given to the creation of 12 posts of teachers in BMA College, Bahedi, and four posts of teachers in Murarka College, Sultanganj (Bhagalpur).
