INDORE: District Level Evaluation Committee has received around two dozen suggestions, claims, and objections regarding the proposed hike in existing Collector’s guideline for property rates at 469 locations.
The committee, which initiated the process as mid-term revision of the collector’s guideline, proposed increasing the guideline value for property in 469 locations across the district.
Additionally, 105 new colonies or locations have been proposed for inclusion in the valuation guideline.
“We had invited suggestions, claims, and objections on the proposed rate hikes till Nov 4. By the end of the set deadline, around two dozen suggestions, claims, and objections have been received. Some are related to the guideline proposed for newly developed colonies, some villagers demanded a rise in property rates in their area, while there are also some suggestions,” Indore district registrar Amaresh Naidu said.
He added that all these suggestions, claims, and objections would be disposed of by Tuesday, and the proposed guideline would be sent to Bhopal-based central evaluation committee for review in Wednesday’s meeting for approval.
The stamp and registration department proposed the increase in guideline values for property in 112 locations by 0-10%, 190 locations by 11-20%, 77 locations by 21-30%, and 90 locations by more than 31%. It’s a mid-term revision.
Earlier, in March this year, the Bhopal-based central evaluation committee had approved an increase ranging from 20% up to 100% in the Indore collector’s guideline in approximately 2450 areas out of a total of around 5000 in the state’s commercial capital.
Senior officials said that the Indore stamp and registrar department had generated a total revenue of Rs 2,540 crore in the last financial year, while for 2024-25, the state govt has given them a target of Rs 3,150 crore, which the revised guideline would help them achieve.
