INDORE: The district administration has initiated the process to grant land ownership rights to the residents of 29 villages incorporated within the municipal corporation limits.

In 2014, the Indore district expanded the municipal corporation limits by including 29 villages. The residents of these villages who occupy residential land or their heirs/transferees without a lease can apply for a lease under land holding rights. Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, in a recent meeting held in Indore, has given directives in this regard.

Currently, the landowners residing in these 29 villages within the municipal limits face difficulties in selling their houses or obtaining loans for house construction due to the lack of registration, lease, or other documents.

Such individuals can submit applications for land holding rights based on the circular issued by the Revenue Department on September 24, 2020. They will be granted a lease for 30 years, enabling them to easily obtain loans and sell or transfer the property as needed.

On September 29, 2024, camps will be organised at tehsil offices in Juni Indore, Malharganj, Rau, Bicholi Hapsi, and Kanadia to receive applications. Eligible beneficiaries will be granted leases under land holding rights after verification.

SDM Rau Vinod Rathore said, “Online applications for leases will be accepted at the camps. Applicants must bring the necessary documents, such as an electricity bill, water supply bill, any correspondence/documents issued by a govt office or undertaking related to the plot, the address mentioned in the 2011 census, property tax receipt issued by the local authority, and the name/address listed in the voter list.”
