ISTANBUL: House sales in Turkey rose 37.3% from a year earlier in September to 140,919 units, while sales to foreign buyers dropped 31%, Turkish Statistical Institute data showed on Thursday.
Mortgaged sales climbed 87.4% in September to 15,825 units while sales of new houses and flats rose by 47.1% in the same period, the data showed.
Sales to foreign buyers totalled 2,022 in September. Russians again topped the list of foreign buyers, purchasing 346 homes in September, followed by buyers from Iran and Iraq, according to the data.
