CRDA starts tender process for Amaravati, , – Homevior

VIJAYAWADA: Bringing life back into capital city projects, Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA) on Wednesday rolled out tenders for major works to be taken up with financial support from World Bank and Asian Development Bank (ADB). CRDA is aiming to complete the tender process by Jan-end so that works can be launched by Feb 1. The works proposed in phase I are estimated to cost about Rs 2,300 crore.

CRDA has split the works into different packages to ensure speedy completion. Roads, drains, sewage facility, utility ducts for power and ICT, reuse waterline and avenue plantation in zone I of Land Pooling Scheme (LPS) layouts of Nekkallu and Sakhamuru of the capital city area will be taken up with Rs 448.32 crore.

Similar works in LPS layouts in Nekkallu, Sakhamuru of zone 1B would be taken up with Rs 588.04 crore.

The balance works in MLAs, MLCs quarters would be taken up with Rs 434.32 crore.

The state govt constructed 432 flats in 18 towers for MLA and MLC quarters between 2014-19. However, the flats were left incomplete by the subsequent YSRCP regime resulting in massive damage. The govt had decided to renovate the buildings with all required interiors and fittings.

Architectural finishes, internal and external electrical fittings and plumbing work, firefighting equipment, lifts, security systems would be taken up in the quarters. The landscaping between the towers would also be part of the package.

CRDA will also take up flood mitigation work with Rs 470 crore.

The authority has also decided to complete balance smart trunk infrastructure including roads, storm water drainage system, water supply network, drainage system, utility ducts for electricity, ICT and reuse water, pedestrian tracks, cycle tracks, avenue plantation, street furniture in N9 road in Amaravati with an estimated cost of Rs 381.82 crore.

CRDA has set Jan 22 as deadline for filing of bids. Interestingly, the technical bids would be opened on the last day of filing of bids. The financial bids of the firms which cleared the technical bids would be opened subsequent to finalising the successful bidder.
