BHUBANESWAR: The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Wednesday launched two digital platforms aimed at streamlining citizen services and market operations.
In partnership with a private bank, BMC introduced a WhatsApp chatbot that allows residents to pay property taxes, trade licence fees and access various municipal services through their smartphones.
Residents can now process payments and submit grievances using a dedicated WhatsApp number, eliminating the need for visits to municipal offices. This digital transformation marks a significant step toward modernising urban governance, said a BMC statement.
The second initiative, a market/vending zone rental collection app, developed in partnership with a private firm, focuses on automating rental collections from city markets and vending zones.
The platform provides real-time payment tracking and enhances financial transparency.
