They say, ‘Home is where the heart is,’ and Bollywood star Vidya Balan believes the same. The ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3’ actress has recently expressed that finding a home is ‘all about kismet, and it’s kismet connection’.
While addressing an audience of over 1,100 real estate developers at the 22nd Credal Natcon event in Sydney, Vidya Balan said that finding the perfect home is a matter of destiny.“You walk into a house and you know it’s yours,” she said, recalling the time when she went house hunting with her mother about 15 years ago.
“I wanted to live in Bandra or Juhu” as it was closer to work and going all the way up to Chembur took a lot of time to travel back and forth. We looked at various places, but there was one particular house we liked, but it was far above our budget,” she said.
Vidya Balan also reminisced that though the house was above their budget, they felt it was the one, and her mother encouraged her to focus on managing the EMI. “I actually bought the house and that is why I say it is a kismet connection. When I walked into the house, it felt like my home,” she said.
Vidya Balan also recounted the second time she went house hunting, it was with her husband Siddharth Roy Kapur, and they reviewed over 25 houses, and now live in a rented house in Mumbai. “We looked around 25 houses but could not agree on any house. And all my life I have lived in my own house with my parents. This is a rented house and I was always like I don’t want to stay in a rented house. We loved the house (the rented one). After looking at 25 houses, we came back here as we liked it but decided to take it up on rent. Our landlord is happy as he is earning a fat cheque,” she said.

Vidya Balan also expressed that the reason behind finding a home in the rented house is the same reason – the Kismet Konnection. She also added that it was rare to find a garden and a sea view in such a densely populated city.
