GURUGRAM: The department of town and country planning (DTP) conducted a large-scale demolition drive in unauthorised colonies in the city, dismantling illegal structures across approximately 30 acres. The two-day drive, led by the enforcement wing with police support, targeted constructions in Gwal Pahari, Bhondsi, and Alipur villages.

Ten unauthorised colonies in Bhondsi and Alipur were removed on Nov 6 and in a separate drive conducted in Gwal Pahari the next day, structures spread across 3.5 acres were demolished and unauthorised alterations in Block A, DLF Phase-1, sealed.

In Alipur, three colonies spanning 7 acres were dismantled and an under-construction structure, 400 metres of boundary walls, and a road network were removed.

On Jail Road in Bhondsi, three colonies were demolished, including two against which complaints were filed through the CM window. On Maruti Kunj Road in Bhondsi, four colonies covering 7.5 acres were dismantled, including five under-construction structures, 30 DPCs, a tin shed, and a network of roads.

DTP (enforcement) Manish Yadav said, “The drive sent out a message to the perpetrators. that we strongly advise the public to verify property legality before making any investments.”
