BBMP Launches Revolutionary Online eKhata System for Hassle-Free Property Management in Bengaluru, – Homevior

BENGALURU: BBMP has unravelled its fully online, faceless, and contactless eKhata system aimed at streamlining property-related services in the city.

In this new initiative, draft eKhatas of over 21 lakh properties have been digitised and property owners can download them from the civic agency’s official website BBMPeAasthi(dot)karnataka(dot)gov(dot)in. Property owners will have to upload a few documents on the website if they want to go get their final A and B khatas.

According to the information on the website, records of over 1 lakh properties are yet to be digitised.

The system marks a significant shift, allowing property owners to access their eKhatas online without needing to visit BBMP offices. The digitised format of both A khata and B khata ensures greater transparency and ease of use for citizens, who can now manage their property records remotely.

Once all the necessary information is submitted, the system automatically verifies the details and issues the final eKhata without requiring any physical interaction with BBMP officials. This contactless approach aims to eliminate delays and ensure citizen control over the process.

“Only in cases where the information provided is incomplete, there is a mismatch. Or if any objection is raised against issuing the final eKhata, the property owner will need to visit the jurisdictional assistant revenue officer (ARO) for resolution,” said a senior revenue official.

“The new eKhata system is designed to be transparent, with citizens fully in control of the process. The system is expected to significantly reduce bureaucratic hurdles, eliminate the need for middlemen, and make property management simpler and more efficient for Bengaluru’s residents,” said Munish Moudgil, special commissioner of revenue (BBMP).
